How Safe is Your Pet's Water?

Have you ever thought about the quality of water your pet is drinking? For many pet parents, it's simply a routine of re-freshening the bowl or bottle. Sometimes, the container is left for a couple of days, until it needs refilling. What you don't realize though, is that animals are just as susceptible to environmental toxins as we are.

Bacteria removal is essential to providing clean drinking water for dogs, as well as cats, rodents, birds, amphibians, and reptiles. Animals can develop infections that we may not notice right away or attribute to something else than from the water. How often do we just ignore our pets or give them a light admonishment when we catch them drinking from a dripping tap or even our own glass? If you haven't yet insured that you have purified drinking water for yourself, then you're also putting your pets at risk. Water that's old or shared by animals is a good breeding ground for bacteria to thrive, so if your pet is not drinking as much as he or she should, it's possible there's something off. Constipation, fatigue, dental problems, and gastro-intestinal upset are a few ailments that can befall pets, while giardia is a serious illness that can kill, all the more reason to stress the importance of clean water.

For pets such as fish, frogs, and turtles who live in water, chlorine removal and
water purification are just as important.

Cleaner Water Helps Maintain Cleaner Health

Water is one of those things in life that most people take for granted. We usually figure as long as we're drinking a certain amount, or the “right” amount, all's good. Unfortunately, it's not always that simple.

Environmental toxins and cancer causing agents can be present, which isn't necessarily obviously visible to the naked eye. High levels of cadmium and arsenic can be present, the effects of which can take years to be noticeable. Our internal organs just keep absorbing the harmful bacteria, and eventually our bodies will react. Aches and pains that can often be attributed to stress or over-exertion may actually be the result of ingesting impure drinking water. Energy is sapped, fatigue sets in, and we're left unaware that the culprit is something that we rely on daily to sustain us.

Occasionally, though, our bodies do react faster with some sort of warning. Headaches and gastrointestinal discomfort can be traced back to dehydration, or water not being entirely safe for consumption. If you're not drinking enough water because it smells or tastes odd, or does appear discolored, that's definitely a cause for concern. Eating foods with a high water content such as cucumbers and fruit can help offset a low amount of drinking water, but it won't completely replace the proper hydration you need for good health.

Aqua Perfect has several solutions to insure that you have safe, clean water. We have
free water analysis, in addition to a demonstration of how some of our products work.
